Abstract
:
The paper attempts to determine if there is a causal relationship between multivariate constructs of quality and organizational performance. The study explores the extent of such relationships as well as it identifies the presence of key indicators within each quality construct for sixteen types of firms classified based on age and size. The sample consists of middle managers from industrial firms in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The study found a significant causal relationship between quality constructs and organization performance. These relationships are different for the sixteen types of firms. A Further breakdown of the quality constructs identified the key indicators within each construct that discriminate between "better performers" and "lesser performers". The study shows that UAE firms use different quality practices than those practiced by American firms and other Asian firms.
